A Qmarkets Case Study
Enexis, a government-owned Dutch energy utility supplying electricity and gas to around 2 million households, faced a tough innovation environment: heavy regulation, a risk-averse and aging workforce, and highly standardized operational processes left little room for spontaneous improvement. To overcome this stagnation, the company sought a dedicated idea management approach, working with Qmarkets and its idea management platform.
Using the Qmarkets platform, Enexis built a structured process for collecting, discussing, categorizing, evaluating, and implementing employee ideas across 20 categories and multiple internal departments, while keeping submitters involved throughout. The result has been strong engagement and measurable impact: 1,200 ideas submitted since 2014, 7,300 comments, 9,400 votes, and roughly 25% of ideas implemented, contributing to several million euros in savings and improved employee safety.
