Large Academic Health System in California was struggling with high colonoscopy no-shows, many patients arriving unprepared after receiving paper instructions, a backlog of unscheduled patients, and staffing shortages that limited effective patient education. To address these challenges they engaged vendor QliqSOFT, using its Quincy chatbots to deliver timed digital bowel-prep education and reminders.
QliqSOFT deployed six personalized, time-based chatbots that guided patients through diet and prep steps ahead of their procedure. The pilot cut no-shows by 36%, ensured every arriving patient was prepared, saved about 6.5 minutes of staff time per patient (≈$5 per patient), achieved 56% patient engagement and 94.4% satisfaction, and produced estimated annual savings of roughly $115,000 in recovered procedure revenue plus ~$53,000 in staff-cost savings.
