Yamaha Music Europe, the Hamburg-based parent for six European sales subsidiaries, needed to harmonise disparate, country-level sales data after consolidating its operations so it could treat Europe as a single market. The company wanted a single BI dataset to enable cross-selling and upselling, provide head office in Japan with timely performance indicators, and replace multiple inconsistent reports generated from different databases.
Yamaha deployed QlikView (with local partner support) to pull nightly ERP data from SQL and incorporate Salesforce and Excel sources, using QlikView’s associative in-memory engine to enable fast ad‑hoc analysis. The result was a single view of Europe-wide sales and margins, far fewer report versions, near‑real‑time updates, improved sales rep productivity and faster decision making — with the first application developed and implemented in about two weeks.
