Wombat Security Technologies, born from Carnegie Mellon research, provides a Security Education Platform of assessments, simulated attacks and training modules that can reduce successful phishing attacks and malware infections by up to 90%. When building a new data warehouse, Wombat needed to migrate frequent ETL loads from MySQL to a Postgres Amazon RDS instance and regenerate the warehouse every 15 minutes, so they required continuous, log‑based change data capture (CDC) with zero downtime.

Wombat used Qlik Data Integration (formerly Attunity), testing the solution with a 30‑day trial and then deploying it to perform near‑real‑time CDC to Amazon RDS. Qlik moved about a half billion records efficiently, enabling continuous migration with no downtime and supporting Wombat’s frequent, 15‑minute data refresh cycle.
