A Qlik Case Study
Universal Business School Sydney (UBSS), an independent higher-education provider with over 1,600 students and one of Australia’s largest MBA cohorts, faced the dual challenge of supporting student success while meeting strict regulatory standards. The school had to consolidate data from six academic management systems and multiple government agencies (education, immigration, international student intel), and was suddenly forced to move from fully face-to-face delivery to fully online learning during COVID‑19.
UBSS deployed Qlik Sense (with partner Impulse Analytics) to aggregate and analyze data from Moodle and other systems, using AI/ML and the associative engine to enable fast, data-driven decisions and predictive planning. The solution improved teaching quality, learner engagement and student support, delivering faster reporting and dashboards, higher retention and completion rates, and student satisfaction of 81%—20% above the national average—while setting up predictive analytics for future resource, curriculum and financial planning.
