ThedaCare, the largest healthcare provider and employer in Northeast Wisconsin with 43 sites, 5,400 employees and 225,000 patients annually, was struggling with slow, inflexible reporting as data volumes outgrew its SAP Crystal Reports environment. Ad hoc requests required IT-developed reports that could take days to produce, and upgrading the legacy system would have required significant capital investment in new hardware and licenses.

ThedaCare deployed QlikView (initially to 60 users in under 60 days, targeting 1,200 users) to analyze 110 million rows of data daily from EMR, finance, call center and other systems. The self-service analytics solution cut analysis time from days to seconds, delivered full ROI before rollout completion, empowered end users to perform ad hoc queries, shifted report writers into analyst roles, and produced actionable improvements across financial performance, disease management and patient flow.
