The Cocoa Trees Tastes Sweet Success In Eliminating Workfl Ow Ineffi Ciencies And Improving Business Decisions With QlikView

The Cocoa Trees, Singapore’s largest chocolate distributor and retailer representing more than 35 international brands across the Asia-Pacific region, faced crippling workflow inefficiencies as its batch-based accounting system could only produce static reports. The company could not view inventory or expiry data on demand, required two-day manual expiry reports, suffered slow order fulfillment and internal stock reservations, and lacked easy comparison between current and historical sales.

In January 2005 The Cocoa Trees deployed QlikView (customized in just 40 man-hours and fed from Navision/MS SQL) to key users across sales, purchasing, accounts and management, delivering interactive, real-time dashboards. The result was instant supplier and order reports, immediate order confirmations, clearer inventory visibility (including expiry tracking), faster, more accurate decision-making and targeted sales campaigns—so much so that the CEO reviews daily performance via QlikView.
