A Qlik Case Study
Te Whatu Ora’s Capital, Coast, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa MHAIDS delivers mental health, addiction and intellectual disability services across several districts and faced fragmented information coming from multiple systems, locations and legacy reports. With around 120 Qlik Sense users including clinicians, team leaders and managers, the service needed a way to consolidate clinical, HR and finance data, improve data quality and replace time‑consuming manual reporting so teams could see the multiple measures required for good clinical decision‑making.
MHAIDS built a single analytics layer on a data warehouse using Qlik Sense (11 apps and a mash‑up dashboard launched early 2022) and automated templated reporting with NPrinting, supported by internal developer training from Acumen BI and a Databilities™ data‑literacy programme. The result is a single source of truth that pulls ~30 default measures into one view, enables real‑time questioning in governance meetings, standardises reporting, cuts manual effort, improves vacancy and recruitment management, and lifted trainee confidence in Qlik by about 70%, freeing analysts to focus on quality improvement.
