Swedbank, a leading Nordic bank serving about 4.3 million customers through 315 branches, needed a customer‑centric analytics tool to support 6,000+ branch and marketing staff. Its legacy regional system and Excel tools were too complex or limited (reaching only ~2,500 users), manual reporting took days, and the project faced massive Big Data and modelling challenges (hundreds of millions of rows and hundreds of billions of cells).
Swedbank partnered with QlikView and Framsteg to build a customised Customer Analysis Tool with intuitive, personalised dashboards, centrally created “bookmarks” and self‑service analysis. The solution was developed in about a year and rolled out to 5,000+ users in under six months, is maintained by just two part‑time IT staff, and delivered faster, targeted campaigns, higher productivity and lower operating costs while improving customer targeting and sales support.
