Malmö University Hospital’s Eye Clinic, part of Region Skåne’s healthcare system, faced growing pressure to shorten wait times, ensure equal treatment across clinics and gain better visibility into patient records and care history—particularly for cataract and diabetes-related eye care. Management needed a cost-effective way to analyze data from many disparate systems, understand patient flow and take control of deviations that were causing long queues.
The hospital implemented QlikView and a flow-model analysis, deploying the tool across clinical, operations and support teams to compile and analyze patient and resource data from multiple systems. The result: dramatically shorter wait times (from years to weeks), more efficient use of personnel and equipment, an improved working environment, easier onboarding for staff and higher patient satisfaction.
