QlikView Revolutionises Patient Reporting System at Leading UK Heart and Chest Hospital

Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Trust is a leading specialist cardiothoracic centre in the UK serving the North West, North Wales and the Isle of Man. The Trust sought to improve its Patient Level Costing and introduce a flexible, easy-to-use Service Line Reporting system that would allow staff to drill down to ward and patient level and share management information across the organisation.

In 2008 the Trust implemented QlikView (with partner Bellis-Jones Hill), deploying an in-memory BI solution that pulls together millions of records from disparate sources into intuitive visual dashboards. The system delivered rapid, low-training rollout, enabled ward-, patient- and consultant-level analysis, was expanded across other Trust systems, and helped managers and clinicians improve efficiency, cost control and the quality of patient care.
