A Qlik Case Study
ThiemeMeulenhoff, one of the Netherlands’ largest educational publishers with about 4,000 titles and some 250 staff across primary, vocational and secondary education units, faced the need for up-to-the-minute management information. The company wanted to move from paper-based reports to digital dashboards, achieve IFRS-compliant reporting, enable managers and staff to slice data independently of IT, and monitor rapid, seasonal sales fluctuations.
ThiemeMeulenhoff implemented QlikView to deliver four applications (timesheets, purchasing/logistics, turnover and project analysis), built in 12 days and rolled out to 130 users; the solution loads roughly 30 million records nightly from its ERP (MS SQL/DB2) to provide fast, graphical analysis. The outcome was 100% compliance with reporting mandates including IFRS, a major reduction in IT workload, faster reporting and decision-making, and broader financial awareness across the organization.
