QlikView Moves Business Analysis From IT Queue To Timely Decision Making For USS-POSCO

USS-POSCO, a joint-venture steel finishing plant in Pittsburg, California, produces cold‑rolled, galvanized and tin‑mill products for more than 150 customers in the western U.S. The company needed faster, more contextual answers to business questions—moving analysis out of an overloaded IT queue so end users could get timely, accurate data without long delays or miscommunication.

USS-POSCO deployed QlikView to about 40 users across sales, supply chain, operations, finance and HR, avoiding a costly data‑warehouse build by using QlikView’s in‑memory approach and QlikView Server/Publisher for security and scale. Within months the plant gained daily (and in some cases hourly) dashboards, multidimensional analysis, cleaner source data and faster decision‑making, improving productivity and driving benefits across safety, inventory, order fulfillment, supplier management and HR.
