QlikView Facilitates Operational Use Of Data At Réunion Regional Hospital

Réunion Southern Regional Hospital, formed in 2007 by merging two regional hospitals in Réunion, France, needed better visibility into operations and financing. The Medical Information Department struggled with fragmented data across many systems and limited single-database query tools, making it hard to get answers to specific queries or provide intuitive, dynamic reporting to users.

The hospital deployed QlikView for about 15 users (with partner Maya) to integrate data from multiple sources (BusinessObjects, Excel, Oracle) into visually rich, interactive dashboards and roughly 10 tailored applications (operating theatre, radiology, medical secretariat, management control, etc.). The result was fast, self-service analytics with daily data updates, short training and rapid rollout (first app in days, others ~2 months), improved patient service and operational decision-making, and measurable financial benefits from better payment tracking.
