Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, one of Northern Europe’s largest hospitals, faced a critical data challenge: patient information was scattered across Siemens Melior and five other systems, making it slow and difficult for clinicians to get the full picture needed to diagnose and treat severe head injuries. The hospital deployed QlikView (to 25 users across two functions) to integrate six databases and present consolidated patient views in seconds, reducing time to access critical information by 99%. The solution enabled faster, data-driven decisions, eliminated cranial surgery complications, and delivered roughly €750,000 in annual savings while improving the ability to analyze patient history, treatments and outcomes.
