Qlik helps bring historical and current student data together for early intervention to help better set students up for long term success

The School District of Philadelphia faced limited, delayed visibility into critical student performance metrics—attendance, reading levels, test scores and graduation data—which left principals and administrators unable to intervene in time to improve in‑year outcomes. With school accountability reports arriving six months after the school year ended and data siloed across roughly 240 district schools plus 80–90 charter schools, the district needed a way to bring historical and current data together for timely, actionable insight and to align interventions with district goals.

After an RFP the district implemented Qlik (with partner IPC Global) to provide integrated ETL, data modeling and visualizations, and trained principals to use the tools in monthly and quarterly reviews. The solution created a 360° view of student performance, enabled multi‑year trend analysis and early interventions (including feeder‑school insights for 8th→9th grade), simplified ESSA subgroup reporting, and powered a public “School Profiles” site—improving stakeholder alignment and laying the groundwork to expand access to school leadership and teachers.
