A Qlik Case Study
Montclair State University, a Research Doctoral institution serving over 21,000 students, faced the challenge of giving graduate students practical, real-world analytics experience as part of its Data Analytics & Visualization course. Faculty wanted an easy-to-adopt platform that could be integrated into the curriculum to teach modern, insight-driven decision-making and prepare students with marketable skills.
The university integrated Qlik’s Continuous Classroom into the syllabus—combining on-demand videos, lecture notes, interactive modules and a Qlik Sense qualification requirement—so students could apply tools like the Insight Advisor and Associative Engine to real cases (e.g., NYC school bus breakdowns vs. traffic delays and restaurant review sentiment analysis). The result was stronger, more agile analytical skills, actionable student-led solutions, growing advocacy for Qlik among students and faculty, and plans to expand analytics learning across more programs.
