Private Bank Builds Customised Management Information System with QlikView

Finter Bank Zürich, an independent Swiss private bank, needed fast, reliable management information to support strategic decisions. Its legacy Excel-based MIS could not keep up during an APSYS/SunGard core banking rollout—reports were slow, error-prone and resource-intensive—and the bank required a single, flexible tool to access KPIs from multiple data sources under tight time pressures.

Finter implemented QlikView for its in-memory performance and rapid deployment; the first MIS version was live in three months and the final system in six. The new solution created a single, fast-access database, improved data quality, cut ad-hoc IT enquiries, accelerated reporting and delivered up-to-the-minute, consistent KPIs to managers, with plans to expand into portfolio and risk data.
