Plugging the data analytics skills shortage with Qlik Academic Program

ICT Academy, a government‑created not‑for‑profit that partners with over 1,000 institutions to bridge the industry‑academia skills gap, faced rising demand for data analysts and the need to keep faculty and students current with practical analytics tools. The COVID‑19 pandemic and low prior adoption of online learning compounded challenges around delivering up‑to‑date, hands‑on training and providing curated online resources and internet access for reluctant remote learners.

ICT Academy rolled out the Qlik Academic Program across classroom and online channels, giving students and educators lecture materials, on‑demand videos, a community forum, full‑year access to Qlik Sense Business and pathways to Qlik certifications. Despite the pandemic, 1,500+ students from 60+ partner institutions enrolled, boosting practical skills, improving graduate employability, and extending up‑to‑date analytics training to regional and rural learners while better equipping faculty to mentor students.
