Ochsner Health System is a leading non-profit healthcare provider based in New Orleans with a main campus, 24 regional clinics, about 475 beds, 18 operating rooms and roughly 13,543 surgeries a year. Facing a need to move from reactive reporting to proactive operational management, Ochsner wanted a complete, real-time view of clinical performance—particularly surgical room utilization and turnaround times—to improve capacity and inform capital and resource decisions.

Ochsner deployed QlikView (SIS Analytics) to 20 users across Clinical Operations and Resource Planning, rapidly integrating finance, materials and clinical data and providing pre-built dashboards for ad-hoc analysis. The analytics improved OR throughput visibility, saved more than 24 hours per month in reactive report generation, enabled daily CEO performance dashboards, and provided the surgical throughput and cost analysis used to justify and secure board approval for a $1.3M Da Vinci robotic system.
