Nortera pioneers agricultural manufacturing analytics and automation with Qlik

Nortera is a North American producer and marketer of over 450,000 tons of ready-to-cook vegetables annually, operating 13 processing plants across the US and Canada and farming more than 120,000 acres. As a highly seasonal business, Nortera needed better production planning and demand forecasting, plus process optimizations to save critical resources and enable company-wide, data-led decisions.

Working with Qlik partner GINQO, Nortera implemented Qlik Sense and Qlik Cloud, feeding data from some 30 systems into an SQL data warehouse and rolling out nearly 100 user-facing apps to about 550 users. The solution delivered tangible savings—several thousand dollars a year in water at one plant, a week saved per month in inventory work—while reducing rework and short-shipments, cutting licensing costs, enabling mobile access for field users, and creating a foundation for future AI/AutoML initiatives.
