Case Study: HBO-raad achieves public transparency and reduces information requests with QlikView (Qlik)

Netherlands Association of Universities of Applied Sciences develops cijfers.hbo-raad.nl public indicators portal with QlikView

The Netherlands Association of Universities of Applied Sciences (HBO-raad) needed a better way to publish public benchmarking data—intake, enrolments, results, study duration, staffing and more—and to reduce frequent telephone requests for specific information. Existing workflows using Excel and static web summaries were slow, error-prone and hard to maintain, so the association sought a cost-effective BI solution to make rich data easily accessible.

Working with TIG, HBO-raad implemented QlikView dashboards and launched the public indicators portal cijfers.hbo-raad.nl, delivering interactive, associative access to about 12 million records across eight student and staffing dashboards. The solution was deployed in days, requires roughly eight development days annually to maintain, has cut phone queries, serves about 40 users daily (100+ at peak), and gives members, the ministry and the press fast, transparent self-service access to the data.
