McAfee better protects its business and its customers using QlikView

McAfee, the world’s largest dedicated security technology company, faced internal BI and reporting challenges that slowed decision-making. Finance teams spent roughly half their time aggregating reports, access to forecasts and renewals was limited to a few users, and heavy IT dependence prevented timely, consistent insights—creating a need to standardize reporting, reduce manual work, and empower business users.

McAfee chose QlikView and engaged Star Analytics and Clarity to integrate data from SAP, Oracle Hyperion, MicroStrategy and other sources—using Star’s Integration Server to preserve accounting/time logic and automate refreshes. Deployed in 2011, the solution scaled from ~25 finance users to about 200 company-wide, cut a major close process from three weeks to three days, enabled real‑time sales pricing and compliance tracking, and delivered an estimated 30% savings in employee time and resources.
