Madrid Salud Opts for QlikView to Monitor Business Processes

Madrid Salud, an independent not‑for‑profit agency within Madrid City Council responsible for public health and addiction services, employs about 1,306 staff. The organisation needed a business intelligence solution to create a balanced scorecard and better monitor departmental activity and strategic indicators across disparate data sources.

Beginning in 2009 Madrid Salud implemented QlikView (Windows client) to integrate Excel, Access and SQL Server data—plans include AS/400 and SAP—and now supports about 20 executive and technical users and ~10 GB of entries. QlikView delivered fast, low‑training interactive reports, GIS mapping and multi‑channel publishing (network, web, mobile), improving KPI monitoring, quality control and business‑process efficiency; the balanced scorecard project also received a municipal award, though ROI is not yet quantified.
