Kanthal, a Sandvik Materials Technology company based in Hallstahammar, Sweden, is a leading producer of heating wire and industrial heating systems, with about $300M in revenue and 1,400 employees. Facing a need to increase control and accountability in the sales process, simplify and speed up data gathering and reporting, and reduce reliance on outside vendors, Kanthal sought a more efficient way to analyze and share business information.

Kanthal deployed QlikView to 40 users across sales, supply chain, operations, and finance—using QlikView Server to aggregate data from the Movex ERP and Excel—and delivered the first application in under a week. The solution enabled fast, multi-dimensional analysis of sales quantities, countries, margins, pricing and invoicing, eliminated around ten manual procedures, improved data collection and enterprise-wide information consistency, and increased control over sales and purchasing.
