IWB (Industrielle Werke Basel) is a Swiss utility serving over 250,000 customers and a leader in renewables, operating 22 wind farms and multiple photovoltaic plants across Switzerland, Germany and France. The company struggled to monitor and analyze turbine data coming from multiple SCADA systems and needed to optimize maintenance schedules and reduce downtime.

IWB consolidated IoT data on Microsoft Azure and uses Qlik in a fully managed cloud environment to monitor plant and component health with updates every 15 minutes. The solution enables real-time, cross-border production monitoring, weather-aware maintenance planning, automated alerts for abnormal SCADA values, and faster on-site responses—cutting downtime on one turbine from 135 hours to about 5 hours and improving trading and operational efficiency.
