IEMML Significantly Improves Efficiencies and Productivity Through QliKView

Inner East Melbourne Medicare Local (IEMML) is an independent not‑for‑profit that supports general practice and primary healthcare across four Victorian LGAs, serving more than 620,000 residents. As IEMML’s data collection expanded—covering patient demographics, diagnoses, medications and pathology—it became clear their reporting processes were slow, complex and limited to a few specialists. The organisation needed a user‑friendly, self‑service reporting and geo‑mapping solution to identify service gaps and help direct scarce public health funding.

Working with QlikTech partner AtoBI, IEMML deployed QlikView with GeoQlik to create interactive dashboards and maps that stakeholders can use with minimal training. The new BI platform reduced report build-times from weeks to hours, saved an estimated 20–30 hours per week (about 1,400 hours since deployment), improved allocation of funding and planning for 189 general practices and multiple hospitals, and enabled local and state governments to access timely, actionable insights.
