Hitachi Omika Works, a Hitachi factory that designs and manufactures information control systems for power, rail, water and industrial sectors, struggled with tightened parts supply and growing customization demands exacerbated by COVID-19. The team deployed Qlik Sense—with a Self‑ETL Assistant to import complex Excel data—using agile development to deliver a unified dashboard in six months that integrates procurement, production, staffing and testing data. The solution standardized KPIs, enabled real‑time visualizations for quicker decisions, reduced time spent confirming delivery dates by up to 33%, made graphing instantaneous, cut losses, and set the stage for expanded forecasting, alerts and text‑mining.
