Grotto S.p.A., the Italian maker of Gas clothing, grew rapidly into an international retail brand and needed a simple, fast way to analyze daily sales, top styles, merchandising and in‑store stock turnover across thousands of points of sale. The company required ad‑hoc reporting and drill‑down analysis from multiple distributed databases without heavy IT development, and an easy interface any business user could adopt.

Grotto deployed QlikView to 15 users within weeks, using its associative, in‑memory engine and QlikView Server to build a central data warehouse, publish documents via the Internet and handle large POS volumes. The solution delivered shared dashboards and flexible, fast ad‑hoc analysis with unrestricted drill‑down, enabling better tracking of sales and inventory and improving corporate and product performance.
