Fonseca Hospital Chooses QlikView to Improve its Management System

Professor Doctor Fernando Fonseca Hospital in Portugal, which serves about 600,000 residents with over 3,000 staff, needed a way to unify clinical, financial and administrative data spread across multiple systems. The hospital faced slow access to critical information from Hosix, SAP and miscellaneous files, creating reporting delays, resource constraints and risks to operational efficiency, so it sought a flexible, easy-to-use BI platform to integrate data and monitor key performance indicators.

The hospital selected QlikView for its usability, independence from external support and rapid deployment; the initial implementation and dashboards were completed in roughly two months. QlikView consolidated data sources, automated data collection, enabled self-service analysis and faster dashboard development, improving staff efficiency and decision-making; after pilot success in finance it was rolled out to logistics and HR with plans for broader adoption across the organization.
