A Qlik Case Study
Emons Spedition, a Cologne-based transport and logistics firm founded in 1928 with 1,800 employees, 40 branches worldwide and about 130 company lorries plus 900 subcontractor vehicles on the road daily, processes roughly 10,000 client orders each day. The company needed detailed transport optimisation and greater cost transparency—identifying links between weight, volume, timing and price—because manual evaluations through its Euromistral ERP were too slow and laborious.
Emons deployed QlikView across finance, transport, sales, management and IT to monitor orders, analyse pricing and utilisation by destination, packaging and item, and drill down to dispatch-item level. By analysing more than 35,000 records daily, the solution delivers much faster, deeper evaluations, exposes correlations in traffic flows and product performance, improves geographic workload and lorry-capacity utilisation analysis, and enables self-service insights for management.
