Sorgenia, a Milan-based energy provider serving over 400,000 customers and operating CCGT power plants, faced intense market competition and the complexity of analyzing data from some 700 entities in its data lake and multiple internal and external systems. Slow reporting (up to ten days) and limited data literacy made it hard to extract timely insights for pricing, generation and customer decisions, so the company needed a BI solution that non-experts could use to make faster, smarter decisions.
Sorgenia implemented Qlik (initially QlikView, then Qlik Sense), along with NPrinting and Qlik Catalog, to deliver searchable enterprise data, self-service analytics and automated reporting. The rollout produced 200+ Qlik apps and empowered over 200 users (including 30 power users), improved data discoverability and literacy, covered all core processes, solved roughly 80% of day-to-day challenges and dramatically accelerated decision-making and report creation.
