Data provides new perspectives on education for children in Africa

Edulution is a nonprofit that delivers blended e‑learning for children aged 6–13 in South Africa and Zambia, supplying tablets, solar power and local coaches to help students in rural and peri‑urban government schools. The organization struggled to monitor learner performance across remote, low‑bandwidth centers, give coaches timely and accurate feedback, and identify where to adapt instruction so students in large, rigid classrooms wouldn’t fall behind.

Using Qlik Cloud Analytics to consolidate monthly learner activity and assessment data, Edulution gained filterable dashboards and velocity metrics that let coaches and managers drill into individual and center performance. The analytics improved individualized pacing and coaching, increased transparency for funders and stakeholders, and helped scale impact—Edulution now supports over 18,500 students across 35 schools and has reached roughly 60,000 children to date, with outcomes reported as significantly better than traditional schooling.
