Colonial Life, a leading provider of voluntary workplace benefits with more than 7,800 agents and 60,000+ customer accounts, needed a business intelligence solution that was easy for nontechnical users, could handle large transaction volumes, and would improve visibility into sales, customer and expense data across the organization. User acceptance and fast aggregation of high-volume data were critical requirements for sales, marketing, operations and finance teams.

After evaluating several tools, Colonial Life deployed QlikView—building nearly 100 applications used by about 400 internal users and providing online access to its agent force. The SMRT sales app, Producer Scorecard, account services dashboards and an expense-reporting application delivered fast, self-service analysis, replaced manual reporting, streamlined budgeting and reconciliations, and were quickly embraced by the business with minimal IT support, improving decision-making and operational efficiency.
