Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust, an acute trust serving over 370,000 people in North East Essex, faced big-data challenges that limited visibility and produced inaccurate, outdated performance reporting. With roughly 2,000 reports per day and 140GB of weekly data managed across thousands of spreadsheets, the Trust lacked a comprehensive view of productivity, patient outcomes and clinical coding—hindering timely decisions on mortality and oncology care.

CHUFT deployed QlikView in 2011 to deliver real-time, self-service dashboards for areas such as mortality, oncology wait times, admissions and readmissions, giving clinicians and managers instant benchmarked insight and automated alerts.
