Children’s Healthcare Services, a 142‑bed nonprofit pediatric specialty center in Omaha, Nebraska serving about 50,000 patients a year, needed better operational visibility to improve quality and safety. Leadership struggled to access, integrate and analyze data held in separate clinical, financial and administrative systems, limiting their ability to identify bottlenecks and reduce medical errors.

The organization deployed QlikView to about 50 users across clinical operations, resource planning and financial analysis, using QlikView Server and Publisher to aggregate data from its warehouse—pulling from Sunrise Clinical Manager, Epic and Misys systems. The solution streamlined analysis of patient flow, provider and facility utilization, and surgical finance, saving staff hours previously spent combing records and enabling process improvements that reduce adverse events and improve patient care.
