A Qlik Case Study
Carrefour Romania, the country’s third-largest supermarket operator with over 400 stores and growing e‑commerce and loyalty programs, needed to centralize disparate on‑premises systems and speed delivery of new customer services as it moved to Google Cloud. The IT estate was fragmented across multiple integrators and technologies, creating scalability, compliance and data‑sharing challenges that threatened slow development and potential regulatory penalties.
Working with btProvider, Carrefour implemented Talend Cloud Data Fabric as a hybrid integration layer—keeping runtime on‑premises while using Talend’s cloud control plane and prebuilt connectors to unify sources like POS, BigQuery, ERP, JSON/CSV and PostgreSQL. The platform now runs some 50 data flows, enabling near‑real‑time price and stock sync, faster quick‑commerce features and compliant reporting (e.g., recycling, e‑Transport, SAF‑T), and has cut development times by about 75% through reusable components and accelerated pipelines.
