Pizza Pizza, one of Canada’s largest pizza chains with over 750 locations and more than 20 million orders a year, faced a classic big‑data problem: six complex, siloed data sets (POS, ERP, warehouses, call centres, surveys and social media) fed only into static spreadsheets and daily reports. That made it slow and difficult to drill down into customer behaviour or operational issues—leading to poor decisions (for example, misjudging the true value of a walk‑in promotion) and an overreliance on IT to generate new reports.
The company implemented Qlik to consolidate data sources and deliver real‑time, interactive dashboards updated as often as every 15 minutes. The solution enabled inventory optimization at distribution centres, better call‑centre training and staffing, social‑media and marketing measurement, and delivery‑area analysis using demographics, GPS, weather and sales data. The result was faster, data‑driven decisions, more efficient supply chain and staffing, targeted local marketing and empowered business users able to convert insights directly into improved service and revenue.
