Case Study: Borealis achieves global procurement transparency and efficiency with Qlik Sense

A Qlik Case Study

Preview of the Borealis Case Study

Borealis implements Qlik Sense SaaS to boost efficiency at 18 locations worldwide

Borealis, a Vienna‑based chemical manufacturer with 6,900 employees operating in more than 120 countries, faced mounting challenges in global procurement across 18 locations: growing volumes of data from over 20 sources, disparate systems that only produced static reports, and little ability to link information for actionable insights. Procurement teams needed a unified, self‑service analytics platform to bring transparency to spend and support faster, fact‑based decisions.

After a proof of concept, Borealis deployed Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS for about 100 procurement users, building ~20 apps and 80 dashboards—including an Interactive Spend Analysis app that consolidates nearly 10 million lines of data. The SaaS solution delivered automatic updates, self‑service drilldowns, intelligent alerts and faster access to data, enabling managers to negotiate better, identify savings, ensure security of supply, and resolve issues quickly—shifting procurement from static reporting to transparent, data‑driven decision making.
