BNL BNP Paribas, one of Italy’s largest banks with more than 2.5 million customers, needed to speed up and modernize digital services after customer behavior shifted toward phygital channels. The bank faced a challenge of delivering fast, accurate account data from its core mainframe to digital applications while reducing load and costs on expensive mainframe resources.

Working with Quantyca, BNL deployed Qlik Data Integration (Qlik Replicate) with Apache Kafka and change data capture to stream mainframe data into an open system. The solution was live within months and now powers 15 data domains and 25+ digital applications, caching ~80 million digital records daily and transferring ~40 million records to the open system each day with average latency under five seconds—improving customer experience and cutting mainframe costs.
