Beyond 12 is a nonprofit that helps low-income and first-generation students graduate from U.S. colleges by connecting them to campus resources and providing coaching. Lacking a dedicated data scientist, the organization relied on pro bono volunteers to explore predictive analytics and concluded that an in-house, engineer-managed tool would be a more scalable way to pinpoint which students are at risk and why.

Using Qlik AutoML, Beyond 12 built a predictive model that leverages historical data to give coaches a bird’s-eye view of student needs and the timing of interventions. The solution lets the internal team own and iterate on the model, improves predictability for targeting support, and creates a feedback loop to pre-collegiate partners so students can receive the right assistance at the right time.
