Bank BTPN streams real-time data with Qlik

Bank BTPN, an ambitious Indonesian challenger bank formed from a recent merger and the creator of the Jenius all-digital app, needed to scale digital services for a rapidly growing, mobile-first customer base. Rapidly increasing touchpoints generated huge volumes of data that were only processed in nightly batches, leaving the bank blind to real-time activity, overloading core banking systems and limiting its ability to deliver timely, personalized customer service.

BTPN built an Enterprise Data Hub using Qlik Replicate with change data capture and Apache Kafka to enable near-real-time ingestion and monitoring of data from legacy systems into big-data platforms. The hub delivers incremental updates in under a minute and customer lookups in under a second, giving teams a 360-degree view, preventing core system interruptions, improving CRM responsiveness, and enabling new services (like real-time FX updates and faster onboarding) that drive the bank’s digital transformation.
