IDG Denmark, the Danish unit of global technology media leader IDG, struggled with fragmented data from Siebel CRM, Navision ERP and web logs that produced static paper reports and required error-prone manual spreadsheets. Excel could not cope with millions of rows and the company had limited staff and budget, so they sought an easy-to-use BI solution to automate analysis and give timely, actionable insight.

They deployed QlikView, with an IT manager building a near-complete sales data model in 15 days and a prototype in 45, then rolling the solution out to 50 users. QlikView consolidated millions of lines from disparate systems into visual dashboards and KPIs, enabled ad-hoc mini-apps (one built in three hours for web editors), freed salespeople from spreadsheet work, and gave management real‑time visibility to monitor and optimize performance.
