Arvato (Bertelsmann) won a 2014 public-sector outsourcing contract to document and run global distribution operations, but the customer demanded full, self‑service access to a data warehouse and analytics to retain visibility after outsourcing. Arvato needed a solution that could handle large SAP WM datasets, support ad‑hoc queries, and offer web and mobile access without losing context, so it chose Qlik Sense (complementing existing QlikView) for its visual analysis and responsive, self‑service capabilities.

Arvato and partner Acssi built the main Qlik Sense supply‑chain application in just two weeks, boosting users’ data‑exploration capacity tenfold and delivering 100% visibility across inventories, orders, deliveries and invoicing (over 1.2 million records). The apps support unforeseen questions, map‑level and warehouse‑level visualization, and picking‑frequency analysis for route optimization; Arvato is rolling Qlik Sense out to additional sites while keeping QlikView for internal management reporting.
