Alico Integrates Qlik Sense to Streamline Operations

Alico Inc., the largest citrus producer in the United States with about 122,000 acres in Florida, faced limited management visibility after acquiring multiple grove operations. CIO James Sampel needed to standardize land and employee performance practices and optimize production and delivery across disparate legacy systems that hindered timely reporting and decision‑making.

By deploying Qlik Sense and consolidating major systems in roughly six months, Alico shut down redundant platforms and tied data together without a dedicated data warehouse. The new dashboards connect harvest to sales, track millions of trees and delivery details, and integrate fleet data from Dossier to improve repair planning, parts ordering and capital decisions — with plans to extend analytics to irrigation, fuel, water and fertilization.
