Case Study: Cox Automotive saves $700K in cloud security analytics with Qlik

A Qlik Case Study

Preview of the Cox Automotive Case Study

Cox Automotive standardizes cloud security analytics across 16 subsidiaries, saving $700k

Cox Automotive, a leader in digital automotive services, needed a more cost-effective way to manage rapidly growing cloud security and operations data across its 16 subsidiaries. As it moved from 40+ data centers to AWS, the company turned to Qlik’s Upsolver-based data lake approach along with Amazon Athena and Splunk to handle raw VPC flow logs, improve real-time analytics, and standardize security monitoring across brands like Autotrader, Kelley Blue Book, and Manheim.

Qlik implemented a cloud data lake architecture on AWS that stored all log data in S3, queried it with SQL in Athena, and streamed only relevant data into Splunk for deeper investigation. This reduced costs by $700K, cut time to production to 30 days, and improved security response and operational visibility without compromising user satisfaction.
