Improves efficiency and reduces cost, while increasing quality of healthcare services with QGenda

Old Pueblo Anesthesia (OPA), a private practice of 40+ board-certified anesthesiologists caring for over 20,000 patients annually and the exclusive anesthesia provider at Tucson Medical Center, needed a scalable, modern scheduling system to replace its home-grown OPAS platform. Manual data entry on OPAS was costly, cumbersome, and hindered growth, so OPA selected QGenda’s cloud-based provider scheduling solution to improve schedule-building speed, access, and operational efficiency.

QGenda implemented a rule-based, color-coded scheduling platform with self-scheduling, mobile/online visibility, and validation to prevent conflicts, while preserving provider preferences from the prior system. As a result, OPA eliminated temporary weekend schedulers, saved thousands in costs, increased transparency and data management, reduced scheduling conflicts, and more equitably distributed high-call shifts to support safer patient care.
