A Qentinel Case Study

Working Together to Create Trustworthy Taxation

Finnish Tax Administration (Vero) needed a reliable way to test the rapidly growing and continually changing Valmis program, including the OmaVero/MyTax service for citizens and businesses. Because the system was large, complex, and had many interfaces, manual regression testing was no longer feasible. Qentinel, together with Tietokarhu initially, was brought in to provide test automation expertise and support for large-scale taxation systems.

Qentinel implemented test automation and quality assurance services covering both continuous application management and new development, helping Vero test changes immediately and repeatedly as taxation rules evolved. The solution improved flexibility, maintainability, and continuity, allowing weekly changes to be validated right away and reducing massive amounts of manual work. According to the case, tests have been run tens of thousands of times, enabling faster detection and resolution of defects and strengthening the reliability of tax services.
