Case Study: Penpot achieves a stable official release with QAwerk

A QAwerk Case Study

Preview of the Penpot Case Study

Penpot launches from beta to official release with QAwerk, backed by 225 automated tests and 90 bugs reported

Penpot, an open-source design and prototyping platform, faced the challenge of preparing its web app for an official public release. They needed to move from a beta version, which relied on community bug reports, to a professionally tested, stable product without delaying their launch timeline. To achieve this, Penpot partnered with QAwerk to handle the comprehensive testing effort, allowing their in-house team to focus on development.

QAwerk implemented a full testing solution, creating a test strategy and performing functional, regression, UI, and compatibility testing. They also built an automated testing framework using Playwright to cover high-impact regression scenarios. This partnership allowed Penpot to successfully launch a robust product, finding and fixing over 90 critical bugs. The result was a stable platform that gained over 250,000 sign-ups and 20,000 GitHub stars, with QAwerk continuing to provide ongoing testing support.
