A QArea Case Study
Last Mile Health, a healthcare organization founded by survivors of Liberia’s civil war, needed a fast way to manage Ebola survey data in remote areas with little or no internet access. QArea was engaged to build an Android mobile app and a native Windows desktop application to support field doctors and help collect, transmit, and analyze survey information across distant villages.
QArea delivered an offline-first solution using Bluetooth and a custom transport protocol: survey forms were packaged on a Windows laptop, sent to Android devices, completed in the field, then transmitted back and uploaded for web-based analysis. The system improved healthcare outreach to remote communities and helped support Ebola response efforts, with reported results including 87% satisfaction, 57% mobile app conversion, and a 7% decrease in bounce rate.
